Designed as the lexical companion to Wikipedia, the encyclopaedia project, Wiktionary has grown beyond a standard dictionary and now includes a thesaurus, a rhyme guide, phrase books, language statistics and extensive appendices. We aim to include not only the definition of a word, but also enough information to really understand it. Thus etymologies, pronunciations, sample quotations, synonyms, antonyms and translations are included. Sheppard and Young (2006) define agility as "a rapid whole body movement with change of velocity or direction in response to a stimulus." In business, agility means the capability of rapidly and cost efficiently adapting to changes. Recently agility has been applied e.g. in the context of agile software development and agile enterprise. From Wikipedia under the

Answered by Travelling Coffee Boy - Sat Nov 8 07:17:51 2008 Are Portuguese water dogs good at search and rescue if not what sport could he be good at how would i teach it? Q. I have just rescued a Portuguese water dog and was hoping to teach him a cool sport to occupy are time like search and rescue but i wish to know if this breed would be good at it or another sport like flyball or agility and how would i teach my dog these sports. Asked by Ant - Mon Nov 2 14:25:24 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. There are PWDs who do search and rescue. Personally, if I were using mine that way (I have 2), I would keep their hair cut pretty short. Other than that, sure they can do it. It really just depends on the drive of the dog. There are PWDs who do cancer detection, so, clearly, they can use their nose to find things. I also know PWDs who do very well in agility, tracking and obedience. The Portuguese Water Dog Club of America (and its regional clubs) also offer water trials, which is a water sport specifically designed for portuguese water dogs only. Newfies also have a form of this sport that is designed for them. Water trials are, in my opinion, the most fun. You can check it out at the web site I've included. Answered by lde10475 - Wed Nov 4 20:47:34 2009 What kind of sport would my Austrailan Cattle Dog be good at?
Q. My Austrailan Cattle Dog ( Chloe ) is a very fast runner. My mom thought she would be good at frisbee so she got her one but she doesn't play with toys and never chews on much of anything. Now we are thinking about Agility, but she is 3 years old , and I am wondering if it madders how old she is. She is a very athletic dog and she is also an escape artist. Please help me. Thank you. Asked by * Naty * - Sun Jul 15 12:22:43 2007 - - 15 Answers - 0 Comments A. An Australian Cattle Dog should be good at any sport you choose to train her for. Agility is an excellent outlet for her energy and three years old is still very young for this breed. Any dog can be trained at any age...there's no such thing as "too old." In fact, three years old is a great age to start agility. By now her bones and joints are done forming and you don't have to worry about hurting developing joints like you would if she were under two years of age.
